Hi, this is Jill with Apostrophe S. Today I want to show you how to make our newest kit. This is the Bird Bistro. This is a bird feeder and you just put the bird seed in this inverted bottle. It comes out in the bottom. These are awesome.
So let me show you what you're going to get in this kit. You're going to get all of the wood pieces to make it. You're going to get this bottle of wood glue. You'll get all of nails that you're going to need. Then you'll get the bottle to put in right before you're finished. What you'll need from home is a good hammer and then I would even suggest some good sandpaper, because the wood is pretty rough. Because I've gotten a couple of slivers doing this, you may want to use some gloves. So just a thought with that.
Okay, so let me show you what to do. These two pieces with the holes, you're going to set off to the side and the two smaller narrow pieces you're going to set off to the side. You're going to find the two pieces that are the roof. So you can see that it's got this angled edge and they're going to fit, whoops, together like this. Okay? So I'm just going to take some of this wood glue, and I don't know if you've ever worked with this. You don't need a ton of it, but you just kind of rub it along this edge like this.
Okay?
Then you match those two slanted edges together, and they fit exactly together like that and you set these off to the side. They need to dry for 20 or 30 minutes.
Okay, so while those are drying, then we're going to start hammering the sides to this. Now you'll notice that the wood grain all goes, well you're going to want it all the same direction. This main piece is 5 inches by 4 7/8, so you don't want it going this way. It will be too wide. Okay?
Set this outside and you're ready with your Bird Bistro.
